The Scientific Committee invites abstracts for oral or poster presentations in the following categories:

1. DIVERSITY AND BREEDING
2. SEED SYSTEMS, ACCESS, AND QUALITY
3. FOOD ENVIRONMENTS
4. VALUE CHAINS AND SCALING
5. NUTRITION
6. BEYOND FOOD

All abstracts submitted must be original work and not previously presented in any other format at other symposia.

Abstracts should be a maximum of 250 words.

Abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee. Presenters will be notified of acceptance (oral or poster presentation) and the date of the presentation. The committee may request that some papers suggested for oral presentation by authors be presented as posters.

Full Manuscript Preparation

Submission of a manuscript implies that the work described has not been published before (except as an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review or thesis); that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as – tacitly or explicitly – by the responsible authorities at the institution where the work was carried out.

All oral presenters, including invited and keynote speakers, are asked to submit a manuscript for publication in:

  • Journal of Medicinally Active Plants (JMAP)
  • American Chemical Society (Vol. 3 on African Indigenous Vegetables or African Natural Products)
  • other peer-reviewed journals
  • digital proceedings

Maximum recommended length

INVITED PAPER: 16 pages

ORAL or POSTER PAPER: 8 pages, including figures and tables

An average page of text will contain about 500 words.
