CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

The rapid spread of the Coronavirus has raised concern about the possibility of transmission at international events where large groups of people from many countries congregate.

We are carefully monitoring the epidemic’s progress to manage any impact on the upcoming Power on Your Plate: All-Africa Summit on Diversifying Food Systems with African Traditional Vegetables to Increase Health, Nutrition and Wealth, scheduled for 25-28 May 2020 in Arusha, Tanzania.

  1. Every Friday, until further notice, we will update you on the situation via the Summit app (for registered participants), on our website (https://tav2020.org) and through social media.

If you will be travelling internationally to the Summit:

  1. Purchase refundable tickets.
  2. Regularly check your flight plans to ensure there are no delays or cancellations. Reconfirm itineraries according to the restrictions at your destination before travel.
  3. Many airports have instituted health screening measures. Allow additional time for temperature checks or other health screenings.
  4. If you are sick, do not travel. Sick travelers face the risk of quarantine.
  5. Monitor the latest information on the virus, as well as quarantine and isolation procedures at your point of origin, at any connecting ports, and in Tanzania.

We will monitor the situation and communicate with you regularly. Although we will offer as much information as possible, it’s incumbent on you to follow best practices and take measures necessary to arrive in Tanzania in a timely and safe manner.  None of our travel or safety guidance supersedes any national or organizational guidance you may receive.

Please feel free to contact info@tav2020.org if you have any questions or feedback.

21 FEBRUARY 2020: As of today, the Summit will be held as planned.

Days until event: 95
