School gardens are growing strong in Indonesia

Students, teachers and administrators at schools in East Java and Bali, Indonesia talk about their experiences growing vegetables in school gardens. These “outdoor classrooms” provide opportunities for lessons about the food supply, agriculture, natural sciences, healthy diets, nutrition and more. Fresh vegetables grown in school gardens can be served as snacks or as part of daily meals in the canteen/cafeteria.
