The Center has approximately 300 staff, including about 50 internationally recruited scientists and professionals from more than 30 different countries. Research and development is delivered through 13 offices located around the world.

The Center’s management reports to an international Board of Directors. Senior managers and support offices with global responsibilities are located in the Center’s headquarters in Shanhua, Taiwan. Regional directors manage the Center’s development projects in Eastern and Southern Africa, West and Central Africa,  Central & West Asia and North Africa, East and Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Oceania.

The Center’s matrix structure integrates regions and four scientific themes led by global theme leaders: Germplasm, Breeding, Production and Consumption.
