Establishing the International Mungbean Improvement Network (IMIN) – Final Phase 1 Report
The final report of the Phase 1 of the International Mungbean Improvement Network (IMIN) has been released by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) and the World Vegetable Center, this 1st March 2022.
IMIN partners aim to increase farmer income, system productivity, and food security by delivering high-yielding, pest- and disease-resistant mungbean varieties to smallholder farmers.
Network partners make use of genetic and genomic resources for mungbean research and breeding, test improved lines, strengthen seed delivery systems, and foster partnerships between private sector NGOs and farmer groups.
The outstanding report, prepared by Ramakrishnan M. Nair et al., details the key results and impacts this network has on the access to mungbean genetic diversity for breeders and the development of improved mungbean germplasm and lines.
The project is now implementing the Phase 2.
