Biography

Ya-Ping Lin joined the Center in 2020. She previously was a postdoctoral fellow in the Institute of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, National Taiwan University, Taipei. She has wide experience in profiling genetic diversity of germplasm, mining functional genes, genomic selection, and evaluating vulnerability
of plant species under global warming conditions. Her specific strength is to bridge the gaps between bioinformaticians and biologists. Her previous study focused on the genetic diversity of wild tomato and the identification of environmental-association loci among tomato germplasm. This research screened potential abiotic resistance and candidate germplasm for further breeding programs. She also studied the population divergence and the domestication of mungbean. At WorldVeg, she participates in the International Mungbean Improvement Network and works on the integration of genomics and phenomics.
