Biography

Samuel Mathu Ndungu joined WorldVeg in January 2025 as an Associate Scientist specializing in Agroecology and Soil Health. Prior to this role, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), where he focused on soil health research. His work has included investigating soil organic matter (SOM) dynamics long-term field experiments in Kenya, microbial indicators for soil health assessment, and the implementation of regenerative agricultural practices. He has extensive expertise in plant-microbe interactions, soil health restoration strategies, and the management of both greenhouse and field trials.
At WorldVeg, his research is centred on agroecological and regenerative approaches to restoring soil health and promoting agricultural sustainability in vegetable production systems across Asia and Africa.
