Narinder Dhillon

Project Lead – Okra Breeding Program

Narinder Dhillon (India) joined WorldVeg in 2010. His expertise is plant breeding and genetics. He was Principal Plant Breeder – Cucurbits & Okra until 2024. Currently, he is focusing solely on okra breeding. He has worked with several organizations including Punjab Agricultural University (India), UC Davis (USA), Plant Breeding International Cambridge (UK), Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS), IRTA – Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (Spain), INRAE: National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food, and Environment (France). 

He obtained his PhD in vegetable breeding from the Department of Vegetable Science, Punjab Agricultural University (India).  Dhillon’s team was awarded WorldVeg Science of Excellence Award in 2018.
