RECENT VISITORS

16 August 2019: A 5-person delegation from Malaysia organized by Mercedes-Benz through the Council of Agriculture, Taiwan visited WorldVeg HQ.

5 September 2019: A 28-person delegation from 11 countries (Australia, Brunei, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, USA, and Vietnam) visited WorldVeg HQ. They were participants in the “2019 Overseas Taiwanese Business Invitation Group for the New Agriculture” organized by the National Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (NASME), Taiwan held from 2-6 September 2019. The delegation was accompanied by staff from the Overseas Community Affairs Council and NASME.

5 September 2019: A group of 4 visitors from Loc Troi Group Company, Vietnam visited WorldVeg HQ. Loc Troi Group produces and trades in seed products, pesticides, bio-organic products, rice and coffee.

17 September 2019: Prof. Dr. Budi Setiadi Daryono (center), Deputy Dean of Animal Science College, University Gadjah Mada, Indonesia companied by Huan Tzung-Cheng (right), President of Tainan University of Technology and Shu-Jin Chang, President’s Secretary visited WorldVeg HQ.

19 September 2019: Andreas Schmitt, Director General, Bavarian State Institute of Viticulture and Horticulture, Germany accompanied by Theresa Ertl, Department of Agricultural Technology, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (exchange student at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan), Ying-Zhen Lin, Executive Secretary, German Institute, and Yung-Chang Lai, Researcher and Head, Department of Agronomy, Chiayi Agricultural Experiment Branch Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, Taiwan visited WorldVeg HQ. 23 September 2019: Meng-Shan Li (center), Reporter and Chon-Gren Gao (right), Photographer from Public Television Service Taigi, Taiwan came to WorldVeg HQ to shoot a TV Program Taiwan Notebook.

4 September 2019: Prof. Dr. Enny Sudarmonowati (3rd from left), Deputy Chair for Life Sciences, Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI), accompanied by her husband Sugardjito Soekohardjo (JITO) (2nd from left), Director of International Cooperation Office, Director of Centre of Sustainable Energy and Resources Management, Universitas Nasional, Indonesia and Prof. Ruey-Hwa Lee (far left), National Cheng Kung University visited WorldVeg HQ.  Three researchers from Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, Taiwan – Ru-Su Li (5th from left), Taiwan Seed Improvement and Propagation Station; Dao-Yuan Xue (6th from left), Taiwan Seed Improvement and Propagation Station; and Pin-Hui Sung (far right), Kaohsiung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station joined the tour and met with Maureen Mecozzi, WorldVeg Director of Communications (4th from left).

6 September 2019: Meng-Shan Li (center), Reporter and Chon-Gren Ga (left), Photographer from Public Television Service Taigi, Taiwan visited WorldVeg HQ. This was a pre-visit to the Center before shooting the TV Program “Taiwan Notebook” on 23 September. They toured the shooting sites and met WorldVeg staff, including Yin-Fu Chang (right), WorldVeg Deputy Director General for Administration and Services.

17 September 2019: A 19-person delegation composed of 18 students and an instructor from Jeonnam Agriculture Meister College (JAMC), Korea visited WorldVeg HQ. They were guided by Tae-Cheol Seo (front row – left), WorldVeg Seconded Scientist – Vegetable Physiology from Rural Development Administration, Republic of Korea.

20 September 2019: The Honorable Tommy Kambu Kunji (center), Representative of Papua New Guinea Trade Office in Taiwan visited WorldVeg HQ. He received briefings on the WorldVeg Genebank and a collaborative project with PNG entitled Promoting traditional vegetable production and consumption for improved livelihoods in Papua New Guinea and Northern Australia from WorldVeg Genebank Manager Maarten van Zonneveld. WorldVeg Director General Marco Wopereis (left) and WorldVeg Deputy Director General for Administration and Services Yin-Fu Chang (right) had discussions with Mr. Kunji.
