5 June 2017: 40 students from Min-Hwei College of Health Care Management, Taiwan in the Demo Garden.
8 June 2017: 40 students from National Tainan Girls’ Senior High School visited the Demonstration Garden with Visitors’ Coordinator Shiu-luan Lu.
8 June 2017: Maggie Tsai, a reporter from Unique Satellite TV, Taiwan, interviewed WorldVeg staff for a video production on agriculture and climate change.
14 June 2017: Taiwan’s Ambassador to Canada, Chung-chen Kung (center), met with WorldVeg staff to discuss topics of mutual interest. He was accompanied by Tracy Tarng (second from left), Section Chief, Council of Agriculture, Department of International Affairs.
26 June 2017: 18 students led by Dr. Irene Chou, Professor of Nutrition and Food Science, and Dr. Megan Chang, Professor of Occupational Therapy at San Jose State University, California, USA, learned about the analysis of the nutritional content of vegetables, and safe practices for gardening work from WorldVeg researchers and field staff.
6 July 2017: A delegation of 30 aboriginal farmers from Fangshan, Pingtung County, Taiwan met with Vegetable Researcher Ruby Hsiao.
15 June 2017: 36 visitors from 15 countries toured WorldVeg HQ as part of a visit organized by the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC). The group was briefed by Yin-fu Chang, Deputy Director General – Administration & Services.
20 June 2017: Senior Agricultural Research Scientist Arada Masari, Scientist Achara Jomsa-ngawong, and Scientist Wilairat Pankaew from the Chai Nat Field Crop Research Institute, Department of Agriculture, Thailand, discussed mungbean breeding research and germplasm conservation with WorldVeg staff, and were guided through the Demo Garden by Jessica Lin.
21 July 2017: A delegation led by Dr. Lajos Bognar (left), Deputy State Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Hungary met with WorldVeg staff to explore collaboration.
24 July 2017: Mr. Lin Tsung-Hsien, Minister, Taiwan Council of Agriculture (left), led a delegation of 13 senior staff members from COA and related institutes to visit WorldVeg HQ and learn more about the Center’s global operations from Deputy Director General Administration & Services Yin-fu Chang (center) and Director General Marco Wopereis (third from left).
25 July 2017: Drs. Patcharapron Suwor (center) and Lampan Khurnpoon from King Mongkuk’s Institute of Technology, Ladkrabang, Bangkok, Thailand met with Tomato Breeder Peter Hanson to discuss cooperative activities in breeding solanaceous crops.
25 July 2017: (left to right) Ann Taridno and Managing Director Johan van Asbrouck from Rhino Research/Centor Thai, Thailand, met with WorldVeg staff to discuss drying bead technology. They visited the genebank with Yung-Kuang Huang.
