RECENT VISITORS

11 June 2019: A delegation of 2 professors and 7 students from Kasetsart University, Thailand accompanied by Professor Ming-Yi Chou and 2 students from the Agricultural Extension Center, National Chung-Hsing University visited WorldVeg HQ.

27 June 2019: Ravindra Kunjir (right), Director and Santosh Thaware, Director-Business Operations of Semenac Seeds Pvt. Ltd., India met the Center’s breeders to discuss the possibility of future cooperation on breeding research.

5 July 2019: A 45-person delegation of professors and international students from National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST), Taiwan accompanied by Professor Jik-Chang Leong, Dean of NPUST International College, visited WorldVeg HQ.

12 July 2019: A 10-person delegation led by Prof. Huu-Sheng Lur, Dean of College of Bioresources and Agriculture, National Taiwan University, visited WorldVeg HQ to learn about the Center’s new field phenotyping system.

22-25 July 2019: Donghe Xu (left), Project Leader from Biological Resources and Post-harvest Division, Japan International Research Center for Agriculture Sciences (JIRCAS) studies environmental stress tolerance in crops. He met with WorldVeg scientists and exchanged views on research collaboration. Dr. Xu gave a seminar on Map-based Cloning, Characterization, and Utilization of a Salt Tolerance Gene Ncl in Soybean.

21 June 2019: A 7-person delegation headed by Jerico F. Noynay and Lorna Herradura from Bureau of Plant Industry, Department of Agriculture, Philippines at the WorldVeg Demonstration Garden.

5 July 2019: A 4-person delegation headed by Ms. Lin (right) from the “Explore Taiwan” program, Chung Hwa University, Taiwan visited WorldVeg HQ.

12 July 2019: A 10-person delegation led by Prof. Liu-qi Luo from the Geography Department, National Kaohsiung Normal University received a tour of the Demonstration Garden from Visitors’ Coordinator Angel Jeng Sheng-fen.

22 July 2019: A 9-person delegation, led by Min-Sheng Huang from the Oyster Shell Investment Project Team and I-Jen Huang, Leader, Taiwan Enzyme Company Preparatory Office, Taiwan Sugar Corporation, visited WorldVeg HQ and introduced their project to WorldVeg staff.

23 July 2019: Léon Broers, Member of the Executive Board, KWS SAAT SE, Germany met with WorldVeg researchers to discuss areas for collaboration. Dr. Broers is a plant breeder, specialized in breeding cereals. KWS focuses on breeding and the production and sale of seed for corn, sugar beet, cereals, rapeseed and sunflowers, and will soon begin production of vegetable seed.
