South Asia Scientific Officer in Legume Breeding Venkata Naresh Boddepalli visited Myanmar’s Department of Agricultural Research in Yezin from 6-10 August 2019 to train DAR pulse section staff in the use of KDDArt, a plant breeding database management tool. Naresh demonstrated how to use templates, import trial files, and record data in the field.

KDDArt is being used in the mungbean minicore trials funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) Mungbean Project, part of the International Mungbean Improvement Network. Myanmar is one of the world’s largest exporters of this nutritious legume.

Dr. Thant Lwin Oo, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, DAR, was pleased with the training and would like WorldVeg to offer the same program for other scientific staff at DAR.
