Farmers visit WorldVeg South Asia

WorldVeg staff Karthikeyan Periyathambi and Srinvasarao Kummari explain the demonstration home garden to visiting farmers from Tamil Nadu.

Yellow sticky traps for insect control were one of the new innovations that excited interest among a group of 40 farmers and two horticulture officers from Tamil Nadu who recently visited WorldVeg South Asia in Hyderabad, India.

The group was ably guided by WorldVeg’s Tamil-speaking staff member, Karthikeyan Periyathambi.  They asked many questions about our new tomato and chili lines, the demonstration garden, the value of tomato seedlings, the benefits of plastic mulch, and the characteristics of our new mungbean and urdbean lines.  They were impressed by the scientific innovations and their practical benefits, and all appreciated the visit.
