WorldVeg recently bid farewell to Svein Solberg, Genebank Manager, based at headquarters.

During his time at WorldVeg, Svein contributed to the development of a salt tolerance screening protocol for solanaceous crops using a hydroponic system, helped identify new sources of resistance against thrips, red spider mite, and Tuta absoluta in wild relatives of tomato, and guided researchers from Papua New Guinea in germplasm collection activities.

We thank him for his service to the Center and wish him all the best for the future.
