World Vegetable Center representatives attended the annual meeting of the African Seed Trade Association (AFSTA) in Dakar, Senegal from 28 February – 2 March 2017.  The annual AFSTA congress is a major event for seed industry participants to broaden their international networks, gain knowledge, and strengthen their commitment to support seed sector development by building strategic relationships with people from Africa and across the world. WorldVeg Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Director Thomas Dubois and TAAT Project Coordinator Victor Afari-Sefa gave presentations to the special interest group on vegetables on “Strengthening vegetable production through quality seed trade in Africa.” West and Central Africa Regional Director Kabirou N’Diaye and his team prepared an exhibit with vegetable seed, posters, leaflets, production manuals, and a video to attract and engage participants.
