AVRDC’s research aims to assist smallholder farmers in improving their crop production efficiency under various production systems. Technologies such as better low-cost drip irrigation systems can save labor and increase water use efficiency, starter solutions can greatly reduce fertilizer needs, and integrated pest management (IPM) packages can dramatically cut pesticide use.
