Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation

In 2012 the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) approved AVRDC's entry proposal "Vegetables Go to School" to develop a comprehensive school vegetable garden program in six countries in Africa and Asia. The project will be linked with other school-based initiatives on health, nutrition, sanitation and environmental issues, and will complement SDC's support of the SUN (Scaling-up Nutrition) initiative.

The SDC is Switzerland’s international cooperation agency responsible for the overall coordination of development activities and cooperation to foster economic self-reliance, contribute to the improvement of production conditions, find solutions to environmental problems, and provide better access to education and basic healthcare services.
